Inspired by the exquisite 1907 Imperial "Cradle with Garlands" Egg, this elegant design reflects a Louis XVI style masterpiece presented by Tsar Nicholas II to his mother, Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna. The original, created under the supervision of Henrik Wigström, featured light blue and opalescent white enamel richly adorned with gold garlands, roses, and rose cut diamonds. Its horizontal, cradle like form symbolized familial love, unity, and joy within the Imperial household.
The historic egg rested on a white onyx pedestal and originally concealed a delicate enamel easel surprise bearing a miniature portrait of the Imperial children, a tribute to maternal devotion. After the Revolution it passed through the Kremlin and later Western collections before entering a private American collection. Echoing that graceful symbolism, this beautifully detailed interpretation features luminous blue enamel, sculpted floral garlands, sparkling crystal accents, and an ornate architectural stand. The integrated music box plays "The Swan Lake," enhancing its romantic presence, while the hinged egg opens smoothly and secures with a hidden magnetic closure, creating a refined centerpiece inspired by one of the most tender and decorative Imperial era creations.
